Can I sell or transfer my gym membership or class pack?

Many memberships and class packs are non-transferable. Before you try to sell one, check your cancellation rights, especially in California.

Check whether you can simply cancel

If you're in California and moving away, or can't use the gym for medical reasons, the law above may get you out of the contract with a prorated refund. That's usually better than selling. Ask the club in writing and keep a copy.

Read your membership terms for “transfer”

Some gyms and studios allow transferring a membership or class pack to another person, sometimes for a fee. Many forbid it. Platform credits (like ClassPass) can't be transferred at all. If your terms say non-transferable, ask the studio: some will make an exception or convert a pack into a gift.

Never just share a login or key fob

Letting someone else use your membership without the provider's OK usually breaks the terms and can get the membership cancelled with no refund. A real transfer puts the new person's name on the account.

Listing it on Unrefundable

We list memberships and class packs only with proof that transfer is allowed or the provider's written approval. Our 8% fee applies only once the provider confirms the transfer.
