These guidelines were effective December 2018 through 2019. They're the latest we found published, but current terms may differ.
What to do next
- Ask MRCA whether a permit can be reassigned to another couple for the same date, and what it would cost.
- Read your own contract for the words “assign,” “transfer” and “non-transferable.” Your signed contract, not a brochure or FAQ, is what applies to you.
If a transfer is possible
List it on Unrefundable for free. We review the contract, find an interested couple, and only charge an 8% success fee once the venue or vendor confirms the transfer in writing. If the venue says no, ask about your outside vendors instead: those contracts are separate.
